From Christine: There was such a nice photo and brief article about Cara Potter, the FLGC-sponsored summer intern at Blandy, that I thought it could be a worthwhile addition to the web site.  Here is the text of a thank you note from Cara, dated 6/10/18:
Dear Ms. Perdue,
I wanted to thank you sincerely for your leadership and support in creating the Horticulture Intern position this summer at Blandy.  After my first week working with Carrie, Kim, T’ai, and the res of the crew I am so excited for all I have to work on in the coming weeks.  After graduating from Oberlin, I feel so incredibly lucky to be welcomed into the Blandy community  and even more blessed that this internship was funded by your Garden Club so that I can begin saving for graduate school.  I hope to pursue work in landscape conservation and systems ecology.  This internship provides an incredible stepping stone towards these goals.  I will be sure to follow up at the end of the summer to let you and the Loudoun& Fauquier Garden Club know what I was able to accomplish thanks to your support!  My best, Cara Potter
PS - You’ll be pleased to know that I will be concentrating some of my efforts this summer to proposing an expansion of the Dogwood collection!
